Favrit is one of Norway’s leading ordering and payment solution in the hospitality industry, with a strategic focus to make everything as absolute easy as possible, throughout the entire value chain. During the unique global shift over the last couple of years, Favrit’s digital ordering and payment system has never been more relevant. Previously called Ordr, SDG helped Favrit with their new name, positioning and brand identity.

Our design concept is based on Favrit’s purpose: to Empower Magic Moments. Furthermore, the brand identity builds on Favrit as your invisible friend—the magical genie—always in your pocket. The design concept runs through the entire identity program and lays the foundation of a brand that’s able to provide extraordinary customer experiences. Simple, disruptive, surprising and hopefully a tad magical.

The broad, but consistent concept, sets Favrit far apart from its competitors. Everything from the signature purple colour system and serif display type—to custom illustrations and iconography—Favrit has gained a massive advantage in an overcrowded sea of ready-made white-label ordering and payment solutions.

We are very excited to work continuously with Favrit, helping them to expand and take on the international market. This case study will be updated from time to time.

Favrit was given a bright and bold signature colour palette, offering a wide range of expression. Rich in contrast for accessibility, the colour program was carefully developed to set Favrit apart from its competitors. When analysing the competitive landscape of 120+ players in the market, less than a handful utilised purple as a brand colour. As purple also proved highly relevant for the design concept, Favrit was able to take ownership of purple few weeks after launch.

A bold but controlled, serif display typeface, gave Favrit the perfect voice to communicate the engaging tone of voice, across all screens and mediums. It provides human warmth and a personal sensibility to the brand. Combined with a pragmatic and highly functional sans serif to maximise legibility on smaller copy, the typopgraphy strikes a balance between human warmth and technical precision — a combination also embodied in Favrit’s product.

Building on Favrit’s purpose: to Empower Magic Moments, we introduced a genie-like wizard to the brand. By holding back on its appearance, only smaller parts of the wizard appear—which will run through the brand as a fun and surprising element—helping you with everything from onboarding to actual ordering or payment.
